The Steelhead is the same species as the rainbow trout, but naturally migrates to the sea. It loves the space and volume of mineral-rich Atlantic water to swim against in remote Scottish sea lochs, where it is slow-grown with the highest welfare standards. It turns silvery, and grows big and athletic – this is a lean, oily fish, packed full of Omega 3s, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Iodine and Selenium. If you like salmon, you’ll love Steelhead Trout, it’s exceptional for its firmer texture and slightly sweet, more delicate taste. Expertly prepared by our fishmongers – simply bake in foil with a little butter, herbs and white wine, or when the weather heats up, it’s fantastic on the barbecue.
